چکیده
Hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma (HCCC) is a rare, low-grade malignant tumor of the salivary gland. It usually originates from minor gland, with most common site being palate, followed by lips and buccal mucosa. The occurrence HCCC at base tongue (BOT) extremely uncommon, thus it must be differentiated other tumors. Immunohistochemistry useful tool to make an appropriate diagnosis. To obtain best prognosis for HCCC, complete surgical resection necessary. Here we report case 47-year-old male benign-looking neoplasm in right BOT, presenting throat discomfort. A simple excisional biopsy revealed proliferative nests cells within hyalinized fibrous connective tissue. final diagnosis immunohistochemistry was positive margin. Re-operation secured safety margin, lesion completely resected.
